I don't always update my blog, but when I do...

...I use it to announce a new Kickstarter campaign for the production of a brand-new illustrated short horror anthology!

This project, in partnership with the always talented Drawing in Dark (who did this wonderful artwork, among others) is going to be ran through the month of October. All rewards are laid out, but we may be adding new ones as the month goes on, just to keep things interesting.

Keep in mind that there is one story that will only ever appear in this Kickstarter as a reward, and never again anywhere else. It's just our way of making this extra special.

In other news, Moribund is still progressing. I'm writing both the horror anthology (titled Tales in Somber Tones, by the way) and finishing Moribund at the same time, because I hate having free-time, evidently.

I'm incredibly excited and can't wait to share with you all these new books.

Until next time,

A Special Announcement...

I'm trying a new bit of technology I picked up recently, so if there are errors on this post, forgive me.

That being said, I have news! I have been invited to Whitby, England attend the 125th Bram Stoker International Film Festival's partner event, The Dark Arts Festival. I'll likely be talking about dark literature, drinking a fair amount, and doing readings, as well as selling books and stories I've written. I will also be selling an exclusive item at the festival: another collaboration between myself and Karen Ruffles who recently did the amazing illustration for "The Invited Guest." More details on that are coming as we sort out exactly what it will be. The festival will be taking place in the last week of October, so there is plenty of time as of yet.

I must say that I'm very excited for this event. I've never had the opportunity to travel outside of the US, and I've been wanting to see England since I was a child. That said, I will be spending the first week of November roaming around the country and seeing what kind of trouble I can get into. If anyone would like to see me while I'm there, get coffee, go to pubs, watch me get awe-struck at the mundane, or just make funny faces at one-another, contact me via email (SeanWalter.Author@Gmail.com), message me via my Facebook or Twitter, or leave a comment on this post. I'd be more than happy to see you.

Right, now that's out of the way, I must get back to work editing my next book. Sadly, it won't be ready by October. However, it does progress.

Until next time,
~Sean Walter

Nights and Upcoming Conventions

Hello again,

Lately I've been working at finishing Moribund for possible submission to an agent in the U.K., which is as exciting as it comes to me. If accepted, it will delay the release of the novel, but it will mean a larger release later. Don't worry, I won't forget you all. If this goes through, I'm planning some special surprises for you.

The project with Drawing in Dark continues. Karen has been keeping me up-to-date on developments on the artwork and we have discussions on the subject almost every other day. I think it's safe to say we're both excited about it and about the prospect of further collaborations. She is hoping to finish the piece and get prints made up in time for Dark Arts at the Bram Stoker Film Festival in Whitby, U.K. on October 22nd-25th. The prints will be sold alongside copies of the story that inspired it. If you're in the U.K. and enjoy horror and other fantastic things, you should give it a look and tell Karen I said hello.

Personally, I won't be able to make it to the United Kingdom for the film festival (at least, not this year), but I will be attending DragonCon in Atlanta on September 4th-7th and Steamposium in Seattle September 25th-27th. If you're in the vicinity of either event, keep an eye out for me. I'll be more than happy to talk to anyone and will likely have copies of my work for sale at both events.

I think that wraps it up for the moment. Back to writing for me.

Until next time

~Sean Walter
