Good News, Everyone!

As indicated in the title, I have Good News, and it's for Everyone!

After a year long struggle with trying to figure out how, exactly, the files for my hard-bound edition of "A Glimpse into Madness" managed to disappear from anyone's database, the files have been found! (Yay!)
And, after a year, it turns out they're the wrong files entirely (less yay).
On the plus side, I was able to correct them (semi-yay) and the hard-bound trade edition of "A Glimpse into Madness" will, in fact, be seeing the light of day in the next month or two. Possibly sooner (yay for real this time). And I should even have copies available while I'm in Whitby for the Bram Stoker International Film Festival (double yay).

Progress on Moribund continues, and I'm hopeful that it will be out in the first half of 2017. The ending is proving troublesome, because that's the nature of endings, but I'm hopeful that I'll have it completed and edited soon. Work continues.
In the next few months, I'll likely be looking for beta-readers for it. Beta-readers have the honor of reading a near-final copy of the book and giving it the outside-view–that is to say, they get to tell me where I was too wrapped up in the story to actually make sense. I'll be looking for a wide-range of people, so if you're interested, please email me: SeanWalter.Author@Gmail.com with the title line of "Beta-reader Application." Please include your name, any profiles you have in social media, any experience you have as a reader (yes, those stacks of off-the-wall novels next to your bed count), and if you're familiar with my past work.

As far as my personal life goes, I'm still living at my father's house, taking care of him after an accident left him with a mostly-broken left side in May. He's recovering slowly, but surely, and I'm incredibly happy with every iota of progress he's made. I sincerely appreciate all of the friends and fans of my work who have asked me about his condition over the last months, and for all offers of help. I'm stubborn, but appreciative of all of your efforts.

That about wraps it up on this end. I'm off to edit.

A Special Announcement...

I'm trying a new bit of technology I picked up recently, so if there are errors on this post, forgive me.

That being said, I have news! I have been invited to Whitby, England attend the 125th Bram Stoker International Film Festival's partner event, The Dark Arts Festival. I'll likely be talking about dark literature, drinking a fair amount, and doing readings, as well as selling books and stories I've written. I will also be selling an exclusive item at the festival: another collaboration between myself and Karen Ruffles who recently did the amazing illustration for "The Invited Guest." More details on that are coming as we sort out exactly what it will be. The festival will be taking place in the last week of October, so there is plenty of time as of yet.

I must say that I'm very excited for this event. I've never had the opportunity to travel outside of the US, and I've been wanting to see England since I was a child. That said, I will be spending the first week of November roaming around the country and seeing what kind of trouble I can get into. If anyone would like to see me while I'm there, get coffee, go to pubs, watch me get awe-struck at the mundane, or just make funny faces at one-another, contact me via email (SeanWalter.Author@Gmail.com), message me via my Facebook or Twitter, or leave a comment on this post. I'd be more than happy to see you.

Right, now that's out of the way, I must get back to work editing my next book. Sadly, it won't be ready by October. However, it does progress.

Until next time,

Busy With Too Much Nothing

Good day, fine people of the page.

Before I get too deep into this, I want to say that there is a new story up on my Patreon page for those who pledge any amount. It's a different story than many I've written, but I think you'll enjoy it.

Right, that's out of the way. Now then, the question people may be asking: why hasn't there been any new blogs?
The answer is fairly simple: I was busy with work, right up until the second week of January, when work dried up. Since then, I've been searching for work wherever I can find it, freelancing for writing and editing online, doing odd-jobs for local people, etc. It's been rough. The worst part has been my lack of time to do the things I love. I'm a week behind on orders (Sorry. They will be out early next week, I promise) and I'm very much behind on my self-imposed editing schedule for Moribund.
On the plus side, I've written several new short stories as of late on random whims, and have a few leads on stable jobs once again. It will be nice to know I can afford my bills and the ability to feed myself on a regular basis again. Here's hoping.

Now I must get some rest. Tomorrow I have a manual labor job lined up that will likely leave me drained. Hopefully I'll be tired enough to write once I'm done.

Until next time.

What day is this, anyway?

As of late my day-jobs (and night-jobs) have taken over much of my time, but through the power of losing sleep, I'm still writing. On the plus side, recently a dear friend of mine offered to help me maintain my Facebook and other various websites, including this one. This means that more content will be headed your way, but it also means that not all of it will come directly from me. I'm interested to see how this pans out. Feel free to post your comments on the subject.

Work on Moribund continues. I'm at a point that the characters are so developed that I don't have to put them into situations, because they get themselves into them. I simply have to guide them to a conclusion that fits the story, if at all possible. Who knows? Maybe this book will end up in a completely different place by the time it's finished. I think I would enjoy that immensely. Those who support my writing through Patreon can expect a completed second chapter to the book in the coming weeks. I hope you enjoy it.

Speaking of Patreon, I've been posting completed short stories there every now and again. If you've enjoyed the short stories in "A Glimpse into Madness" then you would likely also enjoy the stories I post there. Any amount of support helps, though there are tiers of support that will get you more than stories, if you enjoy that sort of thing.

For those of you who are unaware, I'm currently living in Portland, Oregon. I was born here. It seemed fitting. The other day I went to the smallest national park in the country, which is located near the waterfront in downtown Portland.
In a busy street.
In the middle of a crosswalk.
In a circle of stones the size of a medium flower pot.

No, really. It exists. Would you like to see?

Nice, isn't it?

Nice, isn't it?

I don't know why, but the visit to Mill Ends Park made me happy. I love random adventures.

On that subject, I'm turning 30 on Sunday, December 20th. I know, I know, get the old jokes out of the way now.
Go on. I'll wait.

Got it out of your system? Good. Now, on to to presents! Just because it's my birthday, doesn't mean I'm the only one getting gifts. From now until the end of the year, all products on this website will be 30% off. All of them. Yes, even the original artwork. To get the discount, all you have to do is enter the coupon-code "Birthday30" when checking out. It's my gift to you all for taking the time to read my work. I still can't believe so many people enjoy my random stories and imagination, but just because I can't believe it doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. It makes me happy beyond belief.

Right, now that's out of the way. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I really must write some more before going to work this morning.

Until next time.
